The Jimmy Carter cocktail
This rye whiskey cocktail introduces a lot of fruity sweetness from the peach jam and bright citrusy lemon juice.

Ingredients:
Honey syrup- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄8 cup hot water
Jimmy Carter cocktail
- 1 tablespoon peach jam (recipe here)
- 2 ounces rye whiskey or bourbon
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- 1⁄2 ounce honey syrup (from above)
Garnish
- 1 Nutter Butter brand peanut butter cookie
- 1 to 2 thin slices of peach

Directions:
Honey syrup: combine honey with hot water and store in a sealed container. You only need 1/2 ounce for this particular cocktail but you can save it for a few days in the fridge to use in other cocktails.
Jimmy Carter cocktail: add peach jam, rye whiskey, lemon juice, and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake for 20 seconds and then double-strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish with a peach slice and a Nutter Butter cookie. Dipping the cookie into the drink creates a fun cookie experience.
