Portion your ground beef into four even shaped balls (I like 5 ounce patties if you have a scale). With your hands, smash the balls into patties. I like to make my patties wider than the buns that I'm using if possible. The meat will shrink during the cooking process.
Slice the brie and green apple into thin slices.
Pre-heat a large skillet over high heat for 5 minutes.
Season the both sides of your burger patties with salt and black pepper. Place each of your ground beef patties on the hot skillet.
Cook for 3 minutes and flip each patty.
Once flipped cook 4 more minutes for a medium rare patty. Add additional time if you prefer a more well done burger.
During the last two minutes of cooking, add several slices of green apple topped with brie onto each burger. Cover the pan with a lid or a piece of aluminum foil to help melt the brie.
Remove each patty to a plate to rest for a couple of minutes. While the burgers are resting, toast your buns in the hot pan for one to two minutes (spread butter on each bun if desired).
Add mayonnaise or any condiment you prefer to the bottom bun. Add a patty with green apple and brie. Top with a tablespoon or so of chili crisp on each burger.
Serve and enjoy.
